Taking money, placing bets and paying out winnings.Recruiting and Training new staff.Dealing with complaints.Setting sales targets.Balancing accounts at end of the day.During my employment at Wilf Gilberts one of my main roles was increase sales and productivity, using my knowledge of betting and the bookmaking industry I expressed an idea to my manager and Head Office to introduce a system where by clients can take prices from other bookmakers and place them with Wilf Gilbert through a computerised internet based system (Oddschecker). This would enable us to keep current clients happy whilst also encourage new custom. Initially dismissed at the time but is now commonplace across the Wilf Gilberts company.I left to take a position as an on course bookmaker as it was more suitable to my family requirements at that time.
