Stephen is a Barrister at Anthony Mason Chambers, and the co-founder and former chairperson of the not for profit association, Renew Adelaide Incorporated. At the Bar he maintains a broad practice representing a diverse cross-section of the community including general commercial litigation, building and construction disputes, insolvency and bankruptcy litigation, and employment law. He is a member of both the South Australian Bar Association, and the Law Society of South Australia. He sits on the Bar Council, is a member of the Commercial and Civil Law Committee of the Bar Association and is a panel member of the Young Lawyers Support Group. He holds an Honours Degree in Law (First Class) and a Bachelor of Commerce both from the University of Adelaide.Stephen regularly volunteers as a guest seminar leader in final year advocacy subjects at the University of Adelaide Law School. In April 2013 Stephen was awarded the Gray South Australian Young Lawyer of the Year award by the Law Society of South Australia in recognition among other things of Stephen’s professional achievement, his contribution to the legal profession (in particular young lawyers) and for his work with Renew Adelaide.In September 2013 Stephen was named the Australian Young Lawyer of the Year by the Law Council of Australia for “his significant contribution to the profession and the community through his commitment to professional networking, mentoring and education as well as urban renewal and community projects.”In recognition of his work as co-founder and throughout an extended term of nearly 4 years as chairperson Stephen received the Renew Adelaide Award for Outstanding Individual Contribution in September 2013.
