Steve Ryan is a partner in Cox Castle & Nicholson’s San Francisco office and focuses on affordable housing finance and taxation including the use of low-income housing tax credits, rehabilitation tax credits, new market tax credits, opportunity zones and tax-exempt housing bonds. His practice includes all aspects of financing and developing affordable housing projects throughout the country. His experience includes structuring and closing complicated financings for mixed use, mixed income, TOD, senior, assisted living, family and farmworker projects. He is also an authority on California’s property tax exemption for affordable housing and was instrumental in the adoption of rules clarifying the exemption.
