I conducted the synthesis of polyanhydrides through a meticulous solution polymerization process. Employing innovative monomers designed for protein stabilization, I successfully synthesized a novel polyanhydride polymer during the previous summer. My responsibilities extended to optimizing and enhancing polymer yields to ensure efficiency in the production process. Additionally, I operated sophisticated spectrometers, including FTIR (Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy) and NMR (nuclear magnetic resonance), to gain comprehensive insights into the properties and characteristics of the polymer products.

I proficiently manage extensive chemical processing equipment, including distillation units, liquid-liquid extraction (LLE) apparatus, and gas absorption columns, is within my purview. My responsibilities encompass the entire spectrum of operation, from the initial unit startup to troubleshooting any potential issues and meticulously overseeing the composition of feed materials entering the unit. Moreover, I provide expert guidance to undergraduate students, ensuring their competence in utilizing the separatory unit during laboratory sessions.

I conducted comprehensive assessments and developed novel testing methodologies to analyze the mechanical characteristics of a diverse range of medical devices, encompassing sutures, nasal swabs, and more. This process involved statistical analysis of the acquired data. Furthermore, I operated complex machinery for the precise mechanical testing of these medical devices, ensuring accuracy and reliability in our evaluations.
