My hometown is Saint John, New Brunswick. I hail from the North End of Saint John (specifically, Portland Place) and took my early schooling at St. Pius X Elementary School, St. Peter's Boys Elementary School and St. Peter's Intermediate School. I went to Saint Malachy's Memorial High School from 1968 until 1971. I should indicate that Saint Mac's was an all boys Catholic High School so if you detect any personality disorders; those would emanate (in part) from my experience at that High School (just kidding). After university (outlined below), I joined the RCMP and went to Regina, Saskatchewan for training at "Depot" Division. Other detectable personality disorders probably emanate from my time at Depot (just kidding again).I have been posted in Amherst, Bedford, Lower Sackville and Halifax in Nova Scotia as well as in Ottawa, Ontario. During my employment in the RCMP, I acquired a Law Degree in 1990. There may also be some detectable personality disorders relating to my time at Dalhousie Law School (as before, just kidding).I took leave without pay (LWOP) for a one year period of time and articled at a law firm in Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia. Did I mention that I am married to a very patient lady who essentially became the main "bread winner" during this time. I have maintained a "Practising Certificate" with the Nova Scotia Barristers' Society since being admitted to the Barr on the 14th day of June, 1991. I have had the good fortune to work in almost every Division (and major city) in this country and New York City in the USA as a result of postings in Ottawa and Halifax.A great deal of my work in the RCMP after graduation and articles dealt with labour/employment issues, criminal law issues as well as issues arising from law enforcement and its related partners.I retired from the RCMP in November, 2010.I have been actively involved in my present role as a Barrister and Solicitor since September, 2011 (as outlined below).
