Over the past 4 years I have work for Manke Lumber, starting from the bottom as a general employee simply helping to ensure the speed of production using machines like a sorter and stacker. In these 4 years I have faced many challenges and had many experiences with this company I have also been trained to use multiple machines to accomplish various tasks. In January of 2016 I was promoted to train as a lumber grader where I am responsible for the quality of lumber that gets shipped to our customers all over the world. I follow grading criteria assigned by Pacific Coast Lumber Inspection Bureau. I can inspect between 14,000 to 29,000 boards in a 10 hour shift depending on the size of lumber and the demands of our customers. As I have reached this position I have grown to realize that I would be much more fit in a leadership or managerial position. As a grader for Manke Lumber I am able to see some of the operations of the company as a whole and based on my experiences in this industry I am searching for a production management role to help a company reach its full potential while fulfilling my needs in the workforce as well.
