Surface Warfare Officer
In my role as Navigator on USS RICHARD M. McCOOL, an amphibious warship, I was at the forefront of shaping the ship’s navigation procedures. My duties centered around project management and the development of navigation policies. In partnership with my Chief Petty Officer, we created the Navigation Bill and Standing Orders--critical documents serving as the backbone of our command's operations. Previously, as First Lieutenant (Deck Officer) on USS SHILOH, I led a division of 40 Sailors. Together, we conducted numerous complex maneuvers, including underway replenishments and torpedo recovery exercises. Our anti-terrorism drills bolstered our operational readiness, contributing to a more secure maritime environment across the Western Pacific and Middle East.My leadership approach focused on nurturing growth within my team. By dedicating myself to the development of Sailors, I empowered them to perform at their best. This bolstered our collective capacity to defend the nation.
