While working for Priority Landscape I have had the opportunity to gain experience in many different roles. Having joined the team right as Priority was expanding to West Michigan, I worked remotely out of my basement and was faced with the task of finding new business, managing relationships with clients, and keeping our one crew organized and supplied with the equipment needed to accomplish the job. Many times this required me to spend time working on site with crews in order to meet expectations. Today, the West Michigan branch of Priority Landscape has grown to have it's own building in Lowell, MI as well as a full time Operations Manager, Field Supervisor, and multiple crews. This has allowed me to spend more time pursuing new business by building relationships and having conversations about how Priority Landscape can add value to a property. Having these conversations requires me to listen well and to communicate clearly and honestly with the the person across from me in order to understand the problems they are facing. Working at Priority Landscape has required me to work through adversity and be persistent in my work ethic and my attitude. It has required me to learn quickly and independently as well as forcing me to think creatively on any given day in order to provide solutions and meet expectations for clients.

As a salesmen at Excel Office Interiors my job fluctuates daily. From blue prints to making the sale to installing the office furniture, I am able to be a part of the whole process as I handle questions and concerns that come up with our customers. Working in this way has given me the opportunity to help a number of customers find a solution that fits their exact needs. It has also allowed me to work along all of our employees to help bring an exciting and fun "team first" attitude to work. To be successful every day I need communicate clearly, think creatively, and come to work hungry for progress and ready to help our team keep moving forward.

As a crew member at New Look Painting I have had the opportunity to work on projects for a variety of exterior residential, commercial, and industrial clients. Through these opportunities I have been able to develop a variety of skills that enables the company to utilize me on multiple teams and projects. In order to provide a high level of value to the company, I have to approach every day with an excited attitude and a desire to work hard. My time at New Look has allowed me to practice my patience, my listening and problem solving skills, and has given me opportunities to learn how to work with a diverse group of people who often times have very little in common with myself.

As a Student Supervisor of Intramurals my job requires me to help develop, organize, schedule, and run a variety of campus wide activities. My job also requires me to interview and hire staff along with plan and organize meetings. To do my job well I need to have creative ideas, a flexible schedule, an easy going personality, and the ability to communicate efficiently not only with my boss, but also with the people I am supervising.

As a Development intern at Christian Leaders Institute I was given tasks that included creating and organizing a directory of companies that will hire restored justice individuals, researching state by state legislation on online education, editing and formatting Dr. Roy Clousers book "The Myth of Religious Neutrality", brainstorming and idea generating for program expansion, and creating an online library consisting of all learning materials. In order to maximize my performance I had to think critically, network efficiently, research diligently, and communicate clearly.

While working as a Landscaper for Ground Effects my responsibilities included building patios, outdoor walls and window wells, and installing gardens and landscape plants. In order to do this job well I needed to be able to work and communicate well with the team I was working with, think critically and adaptively, and work hard and efficiently even in unfavorable conditions.

During my time at Sioux Center Christian I provided general upkeep to classrooms multiple times per week along with a deep clean of each classroom and hallway in order to provide an excellent learning environment. My time at Sioux Center Christian helped me develop a strong work ethic and the ability to work through what at times could be monotonous tasks.
