I build things. I can't help it.I'm especially good at building medium to medium-large complex systems, and recognizing the implications of the interactions within and between those systems. I'm passionate and work best with passionate people who trust my input and my ability to honestly listen to theirs. The things I build don't have to just be about computers, but they usually are. Presently I am a security-focused engineer for a New Mexico VAR primarily serving state and higher education. We specialize in partnering with new and niche OEM's that displace accepted industry norms. Through open integrations, I try to help my customers build environments that are suited for their teams and their budgets. Previously I was a Senior Network Administrator for a small regional university where I helped modernize their data center operations and wireless deployment. Before that, I helped lead a team of five to run campus data networks at two international airports. I have very broad experience with many different applications and technologies and am quick to learn new ones. Most people would call me a network guy.I love where I live and don't ever want to leave. I'm involved with community organizations that are trying to improve access to health care, education, food security and job creation. I believe the best solutions to these problems lie in recognizing that they are bound together and remembering that we (as humans) are bound to each other as well.
