Software Quality Assurance Engineer

Ensure the quality of company products as they relate to the scope of my workgroup via new feature qualifications, regression and fix testing, and customer engineering packages.Assist with long term strategic planning such personnel and equipment needs for my work group.Negotiate testing requirements with cross-functional Development team. Compose test case and Requirements documentation; provide updates to documents and track revisions and enhancements.Collaborate with other Engineers, Engineering groups & management.Perform required tests in a self-directed manner, anticipate issues, track problems and modify procedures as necessary.Offer proposed design changes/suggestions to processes and procedures, involved in product planning as it relates to quality. Exercise considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of the Automation project.

2003 - 2006Responsible for proper lab staffing and work schedules of 2nd shift Engineers. Serve as liaison between QA, Development, Customer Service, and upper levels of Management.Assists with the development, testing, & implementation of quality assurance plans.Analyzes failure reports and makes recommendations to improve existing quality assurance processes. Provides input on reliability and quality planning; identify potential problems with new and existing products.

Duties included following established operating procedure for running quality assurance test to identify, reproduce, and report defects. Maintain documentation of test results. Perform all assigned Regression tests within the allotted timeframe.

Duties included setting-up test fixtures and performing Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) on HW, debug failures to the subsystem or component level (depending on failure type), documentation of errors and report summaries of failures, follow proper protocol for escalation of critical failures.
