My current roles and responsibilities are to manage a team of engineers focused on providing aging management solutions for agin nuclear power plant components. Our primary goal is to provide sophisticated cost-effective products that extend the life of plant assets and assist site program owners in making educated decisions for the management of theirs safety systems.

While working for Structural Integrity, I have been a consulting engineer for electric utilities across the US assisting in aging management of nuclear power plants. My specific focus has been performing fracture mechanics and aging management evaluations on plant components such as piping, pressure vessels, and reactor vessel internals. I continue my work in the industry through various industry groups such as the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, ASME, EPRI, and the PWR Owners Group.• Subject matter expert on piping flaw evaluation and Secretary for the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Task Group on Code Case N 513 Revisions.• Specializes in Fracture Mechanics Analyses• Performed detailed deterministic calculations of degraded steel components to demonstrate operability in accordance with the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (Section III, Section XI, B31.1) and NRC regulations (10 CFR 50).• Subject matter expert on the reactor pressure vessel probabilistic fracture mechanics (PFM) code, FAVOR.• Aging Management of Primary System Nuclear Components• Developed aging management program plans, pressure and temperature limit operating curves for numerous plants in the U.S. nuclear fleet.• Performed acceptance criteria calculations for found cracks in BWR core shroud welds.• Reactor Pressure Vessel Weld Fracture Mechanics Analyses.• Performed detailed calculations following the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (Section III and Section XI) and NRC regulations (10 CFR 50).• Utilized deterministic and probabilistic fracture mechanics techniques to predict the risk of weld failure.• Authored and verified individual plant unit design analyses, technical reports, and ASME conference publications.• Performed acceptance criteria calculations for found cracks in core barrel welds (prediction of crack growth based on stress corrosion, vibration, and fatigue).• Authored and presented technical papers to utilities, the NRC, EPRI, and ASME conferences.

During my time at Westinghouse, I specialized in conducting fracture mechanics and aging management analyses for operating PWR Nuclear Power Plants. Specifically, my experience is involved with aging management of reactor pressure vessels and reactor vessel internals. My projects have involved working with utilities throughout the world to ensure the continued safe operation of their nuclear power plants. My experience at Westinghouse has also allowed me to work with various industry groups such as the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, ASME, EPRI, and the PWR Owners Group. I am a registered professional engineer within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.My projects included inservice inspection interval extension for reactor pressure vessel welds, first-of-a-kind applications of U.S. NRC alternate pressurized thermal shock rule for operating PWR reactor vessels, developing reactor vessel internals aging management programs per the requirements of the EPRI materials I reliability program, MRP-227-A, and crack growth analysis using deterministic fracture mechanics techniques and finite element models. I have also published numerous industry papers related to my work which can be seen below in the publications section.

During my graduate and ungraduate studies, I assisted professors through grading,laboratory guidance, and student mentoring in numerous courses including Fluid Dynamics, Systems Dynamics, Computer Solid Modeling, and Computer Programming courses.

My second intern experience with Wacker Corporation provided the experience of performing sound power and hand/arm vibration tests on small scale construction equipment such as rollers, rammers, and pumps. This internship also required the use of machine shop equipment to perform various tasks on testing equipment.

Throughout my undergraduate education, I worked for the Bucknell University Admissions Office as a tour guide and office assistant where I presented the university campus to prospective students.

Worked with Professor Thomas Rich in writing an engineering curriculum for high schools in Pennsylvania.

My first internship experience with Wacker Corporation consisted of performing engineering design changes and developing new parts for current and future portable and mobile generators. These projects required working with experienced industry engineers and routinely using Pro/E to perform solid modeling and generate part drawings to be used for manufacturing purposes.
