Hi there! My name is Stephanie Howell and I am an first year physics Ph.D. student at the University of Oregon. I have a Bachelor of Science in pure and applied physics from the University of Colorado and an Associate of Science with a physics designation from Red Rocks Community College. My undergraduate research involved the fabrication and characterization of nanoSQUIDs (superconducting quantum interference devices) in which I developed skills encompassing cryogenics, vacuum systems, and instrumentation interfacing.In addition to my research experience, I also possess pedagogical experience as a Learning Assistant for two upper division physics courses, Analytical Mechanics and Thermal Physics. I am also extremely passionate about science communication and reinvesting into the physics community through both local and national organizations. My postdoctoral ambitions include performing cutting edge research to increase the viability and accessibility of quantum computing applications.
