Covering Brighton & Hove Albion (BHA) in the Championship and Premier League. This role involved travelling across the UK to watch every home and away match with BHA. I attended national press conferences weekly, as well as post match player interviews, generating transfer content, manager interviews and was invited by BHA to fly to Austria on their pre-season tour.Created and developed Facebook and Twitter accounts for The Brighton & Hove independent, substantially increasing social media interactions and boosted website hits on a daily basis. Creatively planned and produced two special edition magazines 1) to celebrate Brighton's promotion to the premier league, this included a section on the last match at the Goldstone ground, where I researched and contacted several players and manager who took part in that game. This was a real challenge and made me utilise my contact network to ensure this could be delivered. 2) Was a pre-season preview special looking ahead to the new season for Brighton. This was planned and edited almost entirely by myself and was sold as a commemorative issue for the paper.

Promoted to a senior role, now over seeing the junior sports reporter, edited the sports pages and all content for Sport in Worthing, Shoreham and Littlehampton. Utilised and grew networks through sports contacts, over saw website and social media growth for Sport. Created new ideas to attract readers to the Herald website and to encourage more interactions via social media.Attended industry standard legal courses, to ensure legal awareness is kept up to date.

Produced content for the Worthing Herald, Littlehampton Gazette and Shoreham Herald, including content generation, page design and interviews with local sports contacts. Over saw freelance sports writers to ensure their work was collated and utilised. Meeting weekly deadlines ready for print was a critical part of my role. I also began the set up new social media accounts, as this new format of news reporting came to life.

This was my entry level role into journalism and is where I began learning how to write content for the Shoreham Herald and Littlehampton Gazette, and began to learn the trade from Senior Journalists, I began to design news pages, interviewing and writing up the stories for the weekly paper edition. Studied and qualified as a senior journalist (NQJ/NCE Certificate) from the National council for the Training of Journalists. Qualified in short hand at 100 words per minute.
