Senior Quality Design Specialist (Architectural)
CurrentESIP is a new, strategic development assistance program supported by the Australian Government and managed by Cardno. The Program will support PNG to address the challenges in providing quality infrastructure that meets the needs of its growing population and allows it to fulfil its growth potential by improving the planning, prioritisation, delivery and sustainability of infrastructure in PNG. ESIP will work across key economic and social infrastructure sectors at the project, sectoral and national levels.Key responsibilitiesUsing my experience in interpreting design documentation and specifications as they are applied during the construction phase of the various building projects. ● Assist the Infrastructure Project Manager (IPM) in monitoring and assessing quality of construction works on sites, specifically the architectural design and detailing aspects. ● Provide technical advice to resolve RFI’s and design clarifications. ● Review alternative product requests and provide recommendations and approvals. ● Carry out comprehensive assessments of potential alternate design solutions and provide advice on implications to program, budget and quality of outcomes. ● Assess architectural design and technical options to ensure compliance with standards and codes. ● Ensure that the architectural integrity of the design is maintained during construction. ● Carryout quality reviews of construction works to ensure works comply with building standards. ● Organise and manage external quality reviews reporting procedures. ● Assist the IPM in assessing variations related to design and technical items. ● Assess and provide advice regarding selection and application of interior finishes, fixtures and equipment. ● Project Manage construction projects.
