Growing up in the construction industry, Steve developed an early passion for building and creating. While working in the field through High School, Steve learned many old school principals from seasoned builders in the area. After graduating, he landed a job for a civil construction company in the telecommunications industry, traveling the United States. He worked his way up to foreman, superintendent, and eventually project manager over several jobs at a time. After years of traveling, hundreds of jobs, and just as many motel rooms, it was time for a change. Steve moved back to the area and founded Masterbuilt Construction in 1995. Masterbuilt completed hundreds of projects ranging from, marine construction (including boat docks and lifts), remodeling, new home additions, and finally custom home building. Masterbuilt erected custom homes in prestigious subdivisions such as The Ridges, Summerfield and Round Tree. Feeling burnt-out with custom home building, Steve started Clark Plumbing Inc. in 2001. In ten years CPI completed several multifamily and small commercial projects, as well as hundreds of single family residential houses, including homes in prestigious subdivisions such as The Ridges, Lands End, and The Virginian. In 2011 CPI re-structured and changed names to American Plumbing Inc. API has remained fully invested in the plumbing industry and continues to grow and stay on top of the latest code requirements, as well as the newest innovative products. API continues to serve a large portion of the greater tri-cities’ plumbing needs.
