· Provide a high level support to Sun’s customers and drive resolution in a timely manner· Provide prompt, professional and technically competent updates to your cases and keep customers updated appropriately· Accept case/tasks in a timely manner (meet required response times), provide timely and accurate assessment, diagnostics, relief and resolution to your case/tasks· Provide proactive and at times remediation support to Sun Customers.· Support and assist Regional Manager’s with additional tasks· Contribute thoughts for process improvement during staff meetings· Make complex decisions independently. Works closely with less experienced SSE’s and Solution Centre engineers to resolve problems. Makes operational decisions critical to Sun's business success· Help in training/mentoring/assisting other engineers on a case-by-case basis

· The planning of installation and upgrades to, as well as maintenance of the Sequoia range of Fault Tolerant Unix/Pick platforms. This platform is a tightly coupled multi-processor system, which is fully fault tolerant utilising dual power supplies, I/O and busses, mirrored disks and memory. If a component fails the hardware automatically detects the failure and informs the operating system. The operating system takes the failed component off-line, executes a recovery process, re-configures the system, and resumes normal operation. This sequence resulted in no interruption of work or loss of data· Technical Account Manager for systems located in Sydney including a mission critical system licensed for 1800 users. This system provided online transaction processing for 13 Credit Unions spread across NSW and interstate including some of the largest in Australia. Typical continuous uptime for these customers was in excess of 12 months

· The installation and maintenance of the MDIS range of Motorola and Encore (since purchased by SUN) based PICK and UNIX systems· The support of a large range of peripherals, ie. Printers, Terminals P.C.'s, Network equipment, Scitec Communications Equipment· Manned the MDIS Help Desk on a roster basis. Supporting customer phone queries as front line support· Workshop duties at times included component level repair of a varied range of equipment, ie. peripherals and system boards· Responsible for up to 25 customer sites· Involvement in many internal projects eg. disaster recovery planning

· Support of GCS and MAK data entry systems, P.C.'s, terminals and printers· Component level repair of PCB's· Awarded Customer Engineer of the Year, 1985
