About Steve Ebersole

Started professionally in software as a COBOL developer with VSAM, ISAM and SQL on AS/400 and mainframes in 1999. Prior to that, was a Sergeant in the US Army.Working at JBoss Inc, then Red Hat (merger) and then IBM (merger) since 2004. Lead developer of the Hibernate ORM project as well as many Gradle plugins.Have worked with many programming languages over the years including COBOL, Java, Groovy, Kotlin, Delphi, Python, Jython, Perl and Javascript amongst others. Working mostly with Java, Groovy and Kotlin the last few years.Open Source advocate, having worked with and contributed to many OSS projects over the years including Hibernate, Gradle, Maven, Log4j amongst others.
