About Steve Handy

Presently, I am a Staff Product Manager at Tableau software. Tableau is dedicated to helping people see and understand their data. As for my part in this, I work on the Tableau's query pipeline and internal query infrastructure. In other words, I have fun. I think so anyways. With Tableau, you can have fun with data too.Recently, I was engaged in independent research which focuses on autonomous predictive analysis and control systems. Though the results of this research are still years out, the last two years have afforded me time to grow key concepts significantly. In the recent past, I’ve had the good fortune to work on three of Microsoft’s multi-million/billion dollar products: PerformancePoint Server 2007, SharePoint 2010, and Excel 2013. My focus and passion is to create new technology and tools that allow people to use the vast sea of information and knowledge surrounding them. Specialties: - Program/Product management, large scale software development, agile and lean product development, SCRUM- User experience design, scenario driven iterative design, usability research- Analysis of new customer and technology segments and strategies- Performance management, social analytics and business intelligence, client-server architectures, cloud services - Data Modelling, Query Optimization and Execution, Visual Analytics, Statistics- Tableau, Excel, SQL Server, SharePoint
