Presently, I am a Staff Product Manager at Tableau software. Tableau is dedicated to helping people see and understand their data. As for my part in this, I work on the Tableau's query pipeline and internal query infrastructure. In other words, I have fun. I think so anyways. With Tableau, you can have fun with data too.Recently, I was engaged in independent research which focuses on autonomous predictive analysis and control systems. Though the results of this research are still years out, the last two years have afforded me time to grow key concepts significantly. In the recent past, I’ve had the good fortune to work on three of Microsoft’s multi-million/billion dollar products: PerformancePoint Server 2007, SharePoint 2010, and Excel 2013. My focus and passion is to create new technology and tools that allow people to use the vast sea of information and knowledge surrounding them. This included defining and upgrading integrated time-intelligence technologies, client and server monitoring components and frameworks, dashboard viewing, design and editing environments, Web part communication and async frameworks, and public API design and documentation (SDK). I managed multiple development teams in two geographic locations through much of the 2010 project cycle. Prior to moving to the SharePoint BI team, I was a top PM on the PerformancePoint Server team. The PerformancePoint Server team was responsible for delivering Microsoft’s first significant foray into the performance management space. As a key member of this team, it was my responsibility to carry forward and redesign functionality available in Business Scorecard Manager 2005. In addition it was my responsibility to determine and design many if not most of the monitoring and reporting features available within PerformancePoint 2007. My responsibilities included feature specification and user interface and experience design, and feature crew management. I ran bug triage and defect management for monitoring and analytics. I was responsible for multiple development teams in multiple geographic locations. -
Program ManagerPhotoworks 1999 - 2005In my five plus years a program manager at PhotoWorks I managed the full lifecycle of multiple projects concurrently. I was responsible for many of the largest enterprise-wide projects in the company. I managed and designed end-to-end web and application user experiences that allowed customers to access over 250 million images online. I was the primary architect and project manager for an online commerce system, as well as automated high volume print and delivery systems. In addition, I designed and managed the implementation of a best in class end-to-end automated color management system. I also implemented a partner communication framework which allowed customers to create a wide variety of products with their pictures.
