CurrentLester Building Systems is one of the nation’s leading manufacturers and builders of pre-engineered post-frame structures. Approximately 1500 Lester Buildings are constructed each year in the US between the Rocky Mountains and the East Coast. Lester Buildings are purchased for a wide variety of end uses in the agricultural, commercial, institutional and hobby markets. Most Lester Buildings are sold using Improv, Lester’s custom built Building Design, Configuration and Sales software. Improv is used to collect a customers’ building requirements, do complete structural design and detailing, compile parts into a bill of material, calculate building pricing information, and produce drawings for sales, permitting and construction. My responsibilities include:- Lead Software Architect for Improv- Development of Modules for User Interface, Engineering Design and Detailing and Building Modeling for Improv- Development of Programs for Engineering Analysis, Design and Detailing of Wood-Frame Buildings, including: - Truss Design and Analysis - Rafter Analysis - Beam Column Member Design and Analysis - Plane Frame Analysis - Flexible Diaphragm Analysis / Frame Interaction / Shear Wall Analysis - Wind and Snow Load Calculation - Footing Analysis and Column Embedment - Metal Cladding Shop Order Generation - Composite Column Shop Order Generation - Knee Brace Geometry Calculation
