It was of utmost importance to manage a tight schedule which included school, home life, activity time, and various personal and professional outings. Working on a team including teachers, doctors, social workers, and therapists was often quite a challenge. Schedules changed rapidly and thus priorities and goals had to be adjusted on a moment’s notice. Not only did I function in this one capacity, but I also worked as lifeguard at the campus swimming pool, where I was introduced to many childhood disabilities.
