Steve Thomas is Chairman of the Thomas Group, Birmingham. His history with the company spans an impressive 30 years, having started out as a mechanic and driver for the Thomas Group Transport Company in 1988.Steve identified an opportunity in 1989 to grow the business when he established the Vehicle Rental arm with just one solitary rental truck. Now, with a fleet of over 1,000 vehicles on rental, the business is thriving following substantial growth over three decades.Steve is very passionate about the industry which is evident in everything he does from his personable manner of dealing with customers and staff to his approach of constantly delving into new angles and ways of improving the business.Self-admittedly a perfectionist, Steve is not afraid to say he has learnt from mistakes made through running a business on the ground. He uses these learnings to his advantage and is always striving to look at new ways to assist his customers and staff and constantly drive the business forward. The Thomas Group is celebrating 50 years in business and Steve looks forward to an even more successful future for the company.
