I graduated from Binghamton University with a Master of Science in Physics in 2018 and was initially part of Dr. Stephen Levy’s research group in Biophysics and Nanofluidics. From there, I switched to Dr. Jeffrey Mativetsky’s research group in Organic Electronics and Solar Cells researching the Nanoscale Electrical Properties of organic solar cells. As a graduate student my graduate research involved the fabrication of organic solar cells, where I published the paper “High-resolution charge carrier mobility mapping of heterogeneous organic semiconductors.” I also have experience in the Nanofabrication Laboratory clean room under Shawn Wagoner at Binghamton University.During my graduate studies in both labs, I oversaw and helped guide ungraduated students who were apart of the BU-HHMI and FRI Programs throughout the course of their projects. The nature of their research would often be interdisciplinary and required the knowledge and understanding of physics, chemistry, biology, and programming for data analysis. I was also in charge of maintaining and training users on laboratory equipment, developing manuals and protocols to help other users in the group. As a teaching assistant for calculus and non-calculus based courses, I was responsible for hour long classes that supplemented the professor’s lecture class. I created weekly quizzes for the students. I enjoyed being a teaching assistant, learning more through teaching others. Working for Ioxus in Oneonta, NY, I collaborated with engineers from US and South Korea to fabricate ultra-capacitors, operated machinery and identified procedures to manufacture capacitors. Conducted electrical testing of capacitors under stress to identify functional range and storage, while keeping track of the effects the stress tests had. I would love the opportunity to further discuss my skills and qualifications. Please feel free to contact me at 607-761-2805 or via email at swbutton1@gmail.com. Thank you for your time and consideration, I am looking forward to hearing from you soon.
