Health and Safety Manager for a USACE 25 Million dollar Drainage Culvert Replacement. Ensure all safety guidelines are followed in accordance to the EM 385-1-1, 29 CFR 1910 / 29 CFR 1926, and all applicable requirements to include The Seminole Tribe of Florida and SWFWMD.

Responsibilities include the administration of the safety & environmental program for dredging / construction activities (Safety Management System). Assist the Corporate Safety Manager in developing and implementing health and safety related policies, procedures, training, and awareness programs. Investigate accidents to determine causes and implement corrective measures. Conduct daily field / facility safety inspections to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, USCG, and other regulations such as the US Army Corps of Engineers Safety & Health Manual (EM 385-1-1 Sept 08) when applicable. Participating in pre-shift meetings and guiding the crew in preparation of Job Safety Analysis process.

Participating in pre-shift meetings and guiding the crew in preparation of Job Safety Analysis process.Operational and Prejob Inspections on Dredges, Crew boats, Tug boats, facilities, jobs sites, to ensure that all hands are operating in accordance with US COAST GUARD, US ARMY CORPS of ENGINEERS, OSHA, EPA.Conduct American Red Cross CPR, First Aid, and AED certification training for all hands as needed to maintain proficiency in case of emergency. Post accident investigation to determine root cause and corrective measures to ensure incident does not happen again.Weekly safety toolbox training to all hands discussing incidents from the last week to ensure that everyone is aware of our safety proficiency on the project.Conduct focus spot checks of JSA's to ensure they are being used properly and that the crafts understand their needs and importance to have them.Hazardous material inventory verifying qty on hand is listed on the outside of the cabinets for easy identification for proper stowage.Portable electrical tool inspection making sure that any tool that cannot be used safely is taken out of service and replaced.Train craft and company personnel on the importance of wearing proper Proper Protective Equipment to include: safety glasses,face shields, goggles, gloves, hard hat, PFD (if needed), and reflective vest.
