I am a member of the Intellectual Property and Information technology Practice Group at the Law Firm of McCarter & English, LLP. My practice focuses on patent prosecution, portfolio strategy and management, freedom to operate assessments infringement analysis, issues related to IPO and intellectual property licensing. I assist universities, start-ups and pharmaceutical companies with protecting technologies in the ares of chemistry, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology, with a particular emphasis in organic chemistry. Of particular interest is in advising venture capital investors in due diligence investigations and advising other clients prior to acquiring intellectual property assets.I have practiced law for eighteen years in both private practice and in industry at Eli Lilly & Co. My clients benefit from my experience in industry as a research chemist.I have coauthored eight scientific publications and am a co-inventor on U.S. Patent No. 5,073,564 covering photo activated insecticides. After completing graduate school, I worked for five years conducting research in the areas of pesticide chemistry and preparing compounds with stable isotopes.
