Promotion to Petty officer followed in 2011 following several years of counter piracy operations in the middle east and Indian ocean, where inter-agency co-operation, on a multi-national level helped to protect and save many lives, using global communications networks, intelligence collection, and analysis tools formed the core of my daily tasking, also responsible for managing a team in the Operations department, ensuring high standards, personal bearing, data collection and report quality, and the day to day welfare of the team. Also responsible for providing command level and ships company briefings ranging from Geo-political strategic level, to ground level threat briefings.Promoted to Petty Officer in 2011, my role changes to one of management and responsibility, firstly in cooperation with many agencies in bringing a warship out of refit, and conducting a South Atlantic deployment as the intel lead, later working for NATO, and finally working in a digital / cyber role primarily conducting security and counter-eaves dropping operations at home and overseas inspecting and accrediting special sites. This requiring project management skills in planning, budget, logistics, manning, and communication to successfully achieve. Also responsible for delivering cyber threat awareness briefings to personnel deploying, and to ships companies in preparation for entering cyber threat arenas, providing team leadership in counter Drone capability. Multiagency working has been a key aspect of the role. Show less -
