When I was a public school teacher I had to adapt all of my lessons to meet the many needs of the students I taught. I later applied this ability to training new hire agents at Comcast and new hire employees at UPS on how to perform effectively in their roles. While I was a teacher at Edgewood Middle School I helped to form and coach the school's first Science Olympiad team where students would compete with other schools in science experiments. For 3 years that I was at the school and coached the team, we made it to the Maryland State competition every year. I also developed the curriculum and pre/post tests that are still used by other middle school technology education teachers in Harford County. While I was at UPS I improved on the training and efficiency of the truck loaders by creating signs and installing them on the delivery trucks in designated sections. This assisted the loaders so they could better place the packages in the correct areas of the delivery trucks which in turn allowed the delivery drivers to locate the packages more efficient. Management saw the effectiveness in this strategy and had the trucks on the other belts updated with the same signs. While working at Comcast I began a quality control system when peers are out of the office and their cases have to be worked. When any inconsistency in the work on a case file is found it is logged and reported to leadership to be addressed during the agent's one-on-one coaching sessions. I have worked on projects such as disaster relief projects where we contact customers who have been affected by natural disasters. I have taken training sessions through the Comcast Univeristy on leadership and advanced troubleshooting of Customer service issues. I have shadowed supervisors in the billing, repair and technical operations departments to gain an understanding of how supervisors' responsibilties are similar and different in each area of the business.
