He has over 30 years of experience, managing businesses, analysing the economic and management performance of businesses and developing businesses. In this period, he has developed a detailed understanding of the key drivers, limitations and opportunities within the rural sector. Steven has a broad knowledge base, diverse skills as well as a detailed technical knowledge within the Pastoral and Farming sectors. He has worked as; a consultant, corporate business manager, a commercial research and development manager, a government beef researcher and government rangeland advisor. Steven skills are recognised and valued within Private, Corporate and Government sectors.Steven is currently a joint owner of the development and consulting company, Spektrum. In this business Steven combines his extensive technical knowledge with his practical experience to deliver quality projects that deliver real value to his clients. He is well recognised in the Australian Beef and Farming Industry for the innovative, effective and profitable projects he has delivered. Steven has also worked with many Indigenous businesses to help them focus on the key opportunities and potential in their business ventures, improving business returns and address the key factors driving their viability, profitability and sustainability. Steven is currently based in Kununurra in the Kimberley region of WA. He is an Associate Professor with the University of Queensland, has a PhD in tropical animal production and has published in national and international scientific journals.
