This was my dream job. Artis is a research & development company doing mostly military R&D contracts. I built anything they needed whenever they needed it. I used all the standard shop tools; MIG & TIG welding, cutting and shaping metal with an oxy/acetylene torch, and electro-mechanical assembly. I even learned how to build clam-shell molds to cast fake missiles in urethane foam so they could shoot them out of our air cannon. It was a different project every couple of weeks, and always another opportunity to learn how to do something new.

Medical Specialists sold, installed, and repaired chiropractic tables, intersegmental tables, and physical therapy equipment. The repair work was the challenge, fixing mechanical problems, chasing down electrical faults in micro switches, Carling switches, relays, and bad connections that caused intermittent shorts.
