I was accountable for all aspects of the business covering four locations, totaling 135 employees. Oversaw activities of finance, HR, administrative, sales and service centre teams. I developed procedures to enhance client experience, streamline and improve operational and supply chain procedures and increase revenues. My notable achievements included: ⁻ I led the merger and acquisition of Shoppers Home Health Care in compliance with PricewaterhouseCoopers acquisition audits. On-boarded 45 full time employees, integrated high-value mobile inventory and acquired a 40,000 square foot facility in Toronto⁻ Oversaw the divestiture of the company’s Oxygen business to Medigas⁻ Implemented 5S and lean methodologies; created MDI (Management for Daily Improvement) boards⁻ Removed silos and barriers between operations, sales and service depts. to encourage a collaborative culture⁻ Created best in-class assessment and operation centre and developed standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all functions in business units ⁻ Implemented an ERP system, Microsoft Navision in four Toronto locations⁻ Introduced a health and safety committee, workplace inspections, and logging of near-misses to reduce number of workplace incidents ⁻ Improved employee engagement and input via round-tables, focus groups and daily business-specific huddles

Starting as National Transportation Manager, I progressed to Distribution Centre Manager, to the eventual position of Director of Operations. My notable achievements in this role included:⁻ I brought occupancy and transportation significant savings in the northern network by streamlining operations, closing down multiple facilities and engaging third parties to handle transportation; transitioned the Canadian supply chain into a North American network to realize further cost reductions⁻ Realized a 22 percent reduction in warehouse labour costs in largest Canadian facility by re-organizing production shifts⁻ Negotiated new collective arrangements with no labour disruption⁻ Re-negotiated agreements with third-party carriers/couriers to realize annual savings of thousands of dollars⁻ Led implementation of LEAN logistics in the seven Canadian facilities; rolled out MDI boards, visual aids and the 5S methodology⁻ Implemented audit procedures, resulting in 100 percent SOX compliance⁻ Created a collaborative culture by encouraging communication and accountability; engagement survey results rose from 68-74 percent, compared to industry average of 65 percent⁻ Introduced TABS (Teaching Associate Behavior Safety) in all facilities; recordables subsequently fell by 32 percent

 Increased productivity and reduced operating costs by 5% through the implementation of vehicle GANT charts, vehicle load studies and route optimization. Prepared and presented to senior leadership annual budget of $33M which included capital expenditures, courier dock model, management and clerical expenses and depot operating costs. Chaired monthly Health and Safety meetings, Labour Relations meetings and daily pre-work meetings. Successfully co-coordinated the opening of three new courier operations to service the downtown Toronto financial district, providing the first professional courier service in this area. Worked directly with Regional Sales Manager to develop new business and maintain existing customer base through service enhancements.  Achieved 100% success with Company Positive Clear initiative by ensuring all daily arrival and departure schedules were adhered to. Coached and developed Unit Managers by initiating S.M.A.R.T. goal setting and quarterly reviews
