Steve Dunn is a proven business leader in the institutional asset management business. Prior to retiring in 2020, Steve was Executive Vice President, Global Distribution at Cohen & Steers Capital Management (CNS), a global investment management firm headquartered in New York City, with offices in London, Dublin, Hong Kong and Tokyo. He has 30 years of investment experience. During his 15-year tenure at CNS, Steve built and managed the sales and capital raising of investment products and strategies to institutional investors, consultants and intermediaries worldwide. He built out the global institutional distribution and consultant relations teams in the U.S., EMEA and Asia ex-Japan. During his tenure the firm, Steve was charged with developing and executing the firm’s global strategic distribution plans. As a Corporate or Advisory Board Member, Steve has demonstrated experience and capabilities in strategic planning, talent and performance development and assessment, structuring compensation frameworks, sales management, digital marketing, product development, and relationship management. Steve brings valuable perspective in managing a growth-oriented firm that is considered a pioneer and leader in the investment management business; he understands the development of management process and strong corporate governance. He was highly involved and engaged in opening of the firm’s London and Hong Kong offices. He was a member of the firm’s Leadership Group, Product Committee, Risk Committee (investment and enterprise) and ESG Steering Committee. Commencing in 2020, Steve has been a Senior Advisor to the Investment Management consulting team at Coalition Greenwich working on customized strategic consulting engagements and advising C-suite executives on distribution and product strategies. He was also engaged as a Senior Advisor at IFM Investors where he worked with the Global Client Solutions leadership team on projects relating to business development, investor relations and consultant relations. Prior to joining CNS in 2005, he was Director of Marketing at Essex Investment Company, LLC. Steve received is BA from Brown University and his MBA from Babson College. He formerly served on the Board of Directors of the Association of Investment Management Sales Executives where he assisted in the development of the organization’s comprehensive mentorship program and Chaired AIMSE’s annual conference. He also has not-for-profit Board experience.
