I am the CEO of an IT Managed Services company, Think3 Technologies LLC. When I finished graduate school and took my first IT job as the “break-fix” guy for a meter reading company, I never would have guessed that I would be an owner in a company that is supporting clients across the United States. I have been truly blessed to have worked with great people in my many roles over the years and learned critical skills in each endeavor. I believe that it is my varied IT experience which allows me to address business decisions from multiple angles and help my clients navigate their IT challenges successfully. As the sole IT support tech and network administrator of an eight-office regional accounting firm, I learned how to prioritize projects and solve problems quickly. I also built patience in working with partners who often had different opinions on what was the priority and what things should cost. As an Owner in an employee benefits company, I learned to read financial statements and understand the impact downtime, turnover, and technology spend can have on small businesses. As an IT auditor covering healthcare and manufacturing, I gained firsthand knowledge of the benefits and hazards of the standards-based audit approach to security assessments. I also gained a deep understanding of compliance with HIPAA, HITECH and 800-171. As a Partner in a much larger CPA firm, in charge of both the external IT consulting team and the internal IT support group, I gained professional skills in management to support people and projects effectively and work within a budget. I frequently had to balance the requests for the latest technology / security fad with the real world benefits it provided. As an Owner in a Wealth Management company, I was taught the benefits of a solid investment strategy and the necessity of long-term planning, both personally and for the business. As a Partner in a top 10 US Accounting firm, I learned what it is like to work inside large corporate America. I also came to a better appreciation of the value of relationships and how compliance and government regulation is impacting corporate America today. I enjoy using the knowledge I have accumulated to assist clients with all manner of IT issues. Be it choosing technology that is the right fit for their environment, finding a good balance of security and functionality or keeping IT spending in check.
