I’m an experienced BACP-accredited therapist, with a 1st class masters degree in Counselling from The University of Manchester. I’m DBS cleared to work with children and vulnerable clients, and I have therapist-specific indemnity insurance. I’ve been working as a therapist for about 10 years. In that time I’ve been lucky to gain lots of different experience, working in a range of settings including services for young people, the LGBT+ community and even prisons. I am an “integrative” therapist, which basically means that I work with a range of different therapeutic models, depending on the person I’m working with and the nature of the issues they’re bringing. I’m a firm believer that the therapy model should fit around the individual person and not the other way around. We all have preferred ways of relating and communicating, and different lenses for experiencing the world. My job is to understand yours and work in whatever way is most helpful to you. I specialise in the following areas (not an exhaustive list):Anxiety and worryOCDDepression Trauma and PTSD symptoms The impact of sexual abuse, rape or assault LGBT+ Self esteem and identity issues Relationship difficulties Mindfulness Sexual issues Clients escaping persecution, prejudice or torture in their country of originDifficulties with drugs and alcoholChemsexI was drawn to work as a therapist after accessing therapy myself on various occasions through my life. I found the experience of therapy transformative, insightful and extremely valuable. I wanted to help other people in the same way, so I decided to train as a therapist.Being a therapist doesn’t mean I have all the answers. I’m as complex and flawed as everyone else! But I strongly believe that self-exploration and understanding can help us all live a life that is more authentic and fulfilling.**Please note, I also work in mastering and audio production, but my LinkedIn profile focuses on my career as a therapist.
