I work on emergency ambulances and rapid response vehicles, attending 999 calls to members of the public. My work sees me travelling around the West Midlands, dealing with cases of minor injuries and illnesses, up to and including cases of major trauma, cardiopulmonary resuscitation and advanced life support. I am responsible for autonomous clinical decision making and have access to a range of drugs, medications and paramedic skills and techniques to aid my patient treatment.My role also sees me working as part of a clinical team, working out the best plan of action for each individual patient. I can be the clinical lead when working as part of a crew or team and have a legal, ethical and moral obligation towards my patients, relatives and my colleagues to act in everyone's best interests and to the best of my ability.

I work with other technicians, emergency care assistants and paramedics, driving around the West Midlands attending different 999 emergency ambulance calls. I provide emergency care, advice and support to my patients in a variety of situations, ranging from stubbed toes to cardiac arrest resuscitations and everything in between! I am interested in the psychiatry and support structures available to patients suffering with mental health problems. I have future plans to complete further training to become a critical care paramedic, dealing with serious life threatening trauma jobs as this is another area of interest to me.
