I currently work as a Senior Technologist in the Nuclear Medicine Department at Saint Mary’s Hospital, Manchester. I have worked in the department for over ten years and in that time I have become proficient at carrying out a wide range of diagnostic imaging using state of the art equipment. I perform a wide range of technical duties and administer a range of radiopharmaceuticals and perform the subsequent imaging using a number of gamma cameras, three of which have SPECT/CT capabilities with the CT used for attenuation correction and anatomical localisation.I am trained to administer injections using a number of radiopharmaceuticals, which include technetium labelled tetrofosmin, MDP and MAA. I also inject iodine labelled DATSCAN and chromium labelled EDTA for GFR studies. I am able to take blood samples for GFR and Indium labelled platelet studies and routinely cannulate patients for a range of investigations.I frequently work in PET/CT and administer FDG for oncology, brain and cardiac viability studies. I also help in the preparation and imaging of the patients undertaking rubidium myocardial perfusion studies. I recently completed the Cardiac Stress leaders course and perform adenosine and regadenosine stress tests for rubidium and myoview cardiac perfusion studies.Strong healthcare services professional with a Pg-Dip in Nuclear Medicine from Salford University and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) focused in Biology/Biological Sciences, General from The Manchester Metropolitan University.
