I am a competent Project Professional with almost 2 decades of experience in engineering-based environments. For the majority of this time I have been part of, or led Project Management teams. I and my teams have successfully delivered bespoke Rotating Equipment packages to the Oil & Gas, Nuclear, Naval, Water, Power Generation, Steel production and Refrigeration markets.As a People Leader I look to create strong connections within my teams ensuring time is devoted to one-on-one meetings and developing my team members. I aim to adapt best practice from previous companies and project experience to tailor appropriate solutions to the individual and the business. Fostering a good team spirit has always been important to me in both my project and departmental teams.Presently I am the Head of Projects for the Celeros Clyde Union Cathcart site, my team of 12 direct reports are currently executing projects with a combined value of 147 million pounds. At a site level I am part of the Cathcart Senior Leadership Team, who are responsible for all aspects of the Cathcart site including Financial Forecasting & Reporting, Manufacturing Strategy Planning, Workforce Reorganization, Business Improvement & Employee Engagement. In this group I ensure that I strike the right balance between challenge and support for my peers to drive appropriate change.As a Project Professional I successfully delivered projects to a total of over 70 million pounds, each with its own unique set of complex stakeholder management requirements, specification requirements, multi-disciplinary engineering requirements. At the same time, I retained full financial control and schedule management responsibilities.During my career I have also had the opportunity to work in roles outside of Project Management which have helped expand my skill set beyond established project management tools. Following a role in Business improvement, I am able to plan, research, lead and facilitate Kaizens and other continuous improvement activities, Upon completion of this role I transferred these skills into Project Management by reviewing, improving, updating and giving training to my team in Project Execution.I have a strong customer focus. The foundations of which originate from my time as Proposals Engineer. I have maintained a focus on customer service during project execution. This has enabled me to establish an excellent rapport with customers which has helped the business win repeat work, minimise exposure to damages and improve its customer relations.
