I am the polymerization expert in the solvent based acrylic PSA department. I have a wide range of responsibilities including:- Product Development: Provide customer specific solutions to unmet needs through synthesis and formulation of solvent based PSA in a variety of markets. Development of the existing product portfolio in response to market trends and novel applications (high solids, changing regulatory classifications, wrap for buildings etc.)- Customer/Sales technical support: Intimate knowledge of the product portfolio to be able to make product recommendations and the ability to tailor products to achieve performance requirements. Attend customer meetings and trials to provide technical support as well as gain intimate knowledge of their requirements. Prepare and send wet and film samples to customers internationally. -Process improvement: Work to provide solutions to help optimise operating margins such as reduced cycle time, optimised wash regime, altering how raw materials are processed etc. - Providing process improvements for existing products in order to help improve operating margins.-Production support: Scale up of new products from the lab to production including entering the recipe into SAP, setting specifications, producing all batch sheets and monitoring first production. Transfer of existing US grades by producing the batch sheets as well as any alterations to the polymerisation necessary. Instrumental in the set up of a new EU pilot facility to aide product scale up.-Raw material suppliers: Dealing directly with raw material suppliers as well as with the purchasing department to supply and evaluate new, alternative and existing raw materials.

I worked as an analytical chemist determining the residual levels of pesticides/herbicides and their breakdown products in various crops/animals. The results were used to gain and retain the licence to sell these products in various countries.
