I develop space radiation instrumentation supporting human and unmanned spaceflight for the NASA Space Radiation Analysis Group.Hardware I have worked on has flown on Artemis 1, ISS, to Heliocentric Orbit and will fly to the lunar surface on the Astrobotic Peregrine lander and to Low Earth Orbit on SpaceX Polaris Dawn in 2023. I have developed new algorithms for flight instruments on the Orion Spacecraft (to fly on all Orion Exploration class missions) and for analysis on the ground. I calibrate and set up detectors for flights on Orion, small satellites and the International Space Station. I have also worked with various on orbit experiments including the deployments of REM instruments on the International Space Station (ISS), the deployment of REM's in the ISS BEAM module as well as the MPT instrument. New projects involve development of novel instruments for neutron spectroscopy for use in the NASA deep space gateway.

FellowCern Aug 2012 - Aug 2015Geneva Area, SwitzerlandMarie Curie Fellow at CERN as part of the ARDENT EU FP7 program. I worked mainly on novel applications of hybrid pixel detectors (Timepix) for the measurement of mixed radiation fields around accelerators and in space, including a three month secondment working with Timepix detectors on the International Space Station with the University of Houston and NASA. I developed a novel detector system for fast neutron dosimetry, and was heavily involved in the development and characterisation of a highly pixellated gas detector for profiling clinical hadron therapy beams and neutron time of flight beams.
