J Murphy & Sons created a standalone brand for their Gas and Electricity Distribution Businesses called 'mua' in 2022 and I was seconded into the business in the same capacity as my previous role.Delivering the requirements of Compliance and Regulatory landscape setup of an Independent Gas Transporter (IGT) and Independent Distribution Network Operator (IDNO) businesses. Reporting to the Utility Asset Director and responsible for providing an independent and unbiased review of Gas and Electricity Independent Regulated Companies, ensuring compliance with Regulator Licence Conditions, Industry Codes, Changes and Consultations, SHESQ procedures & technical standards. I am the named Responsible Person under this IGT Gas Safety Case approved by the Health and Safety Executive. Role requires high detailed knowledge and management of the Regulatory and Compliance frameworks of energy distribution and importance of maintaining the required suite of documentation, procedures, standards and processes are in place to ensure the safe and efficient running of the company’s Gas and Electricity Networks growing portfolio.

Role required leading a small team, incorporating individual career path progression, business unit hierarchical management and team strategies to deliver a safe and competent construction of utility assets. Responsibilities include• Utility suite of Procedures and Processes author and management• Technical lead on both design and interface with the wider industry for connections into upstream networks and third party adopters of constructed assets• Maintainer of Library of IGEM gas standards and lead on assurance for Multi Occupancy Building projects• Process lead on CDM Regulation conformity on larger projects• Risk Assessment author for bespoke utility construction projects

Responsible for ensuring all aspects of Utility Connections projects from Tender through to Completion were completed efficiently, safely and on programme.Responsibilities include• Commercial regimes of Buying, Tendering• Review and planning of Design Proposals to ensure efficient construction of utility infrastructure • Lead on management of Highway Permits for works in public – including impact assessment and traffic management proposals• Reviewer of Quality Maintenance procedures and assurance processes• Network Coordinator with Specialist Knowledge in Gas Operations both on distribution networks and private sites with respect to Safe Control of Operations (SCO)• Maintaining demanding timescales through own reports and communication between parties including presentation of findings to clients, and upper internal management• Pushed own boundaries by accepting a temporary role as Project Manager for a £550k refurbishment of the company site office in 2014-2015

Role was to develop the efficiency and management of works Notices with Local Authorities and Electrical Projects that the Company had undertaken from their principal client. Reporting to the Planning manager, including bespoke risks onto timescales of projects. Responsibilities include• Planning and monitoring of timescales and of projects and to raise awareness of risk of possible delays • Highway Permit management for each project and follow their progress until successful completion• Planning workforce including Civil, Jointers, Linesmen, Fitters and Reinstatement teams• Assured a clear line of communication of project issues with all relevant parties was maintained for all projects• Project values ranged from <£5k up to £150k
