The Wintel Platform Team Leader is responsible for managing and developing an effective and highly productive Wintel Team.The Wintel Team has resources in both Shenley Wood and Carlton Park. I was tasked with the setup and recruitment and then the day to day running of the Transformation and Migration (Project Warrren) for the Banks Project to consolidate from three datacentres in Milton Keynes to one purpose built data centre in Carlton Park, Leicester.This was broken down into 2 main areas:1. Over 1000 P2V migrations2. Over 3000 V2V, and migrations between MK and Carlton Park.Responsible for identifying and scheduling Physical to Virtual (P2V) candidates before migrating the servers to Tier 1 data centres. Tools and applications used to successfully migrate services include vCentre Operations Manager, vCentre Site Recovery Manager, Platespin and VMware converter. Responsibilities include:• Scheduling of Server P2V & V2V migration tasks• Implementing P2V & V2V migrations• Windows Virtual machine builds• Raising changes• Release management• Support /maintenance of existing server infrastructure.• Close liaison and working relationships with application development teams, suppliers and internal systems management and support teams• Problem solving and resolution of complex server infrastructure issues..As the team lead I was also responsible for daily statistic updates to senior management and the systems director.
