Member of special joint operations engineering team Federally Activated to support the DISA implementation of the Global Information Grid Bandwidth Expansion (GIG-BE) and Defense Information System Network (DISN) Transition programs.Efforts provided upgraded C4ISR capabilities to Technical Control Facilities (TCF) and Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIF) within DoD installations and organizations, directly supporting multiple Unified Combatant Commands. Contributions significantly further a program goal of achieving an IP terrestrial network, at 90+ DoD sites worldwide, designed to facilitate global network-centric operations and multiple transformation objectives, as well as vastly improve national security level Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) and Command and Control (C2) information-sharing capabilities through the Global Information Grid. * Contributed toward DISA GIG-BE program successfully passing its Final Operational Testing and Evaluation (FOT&E) phase in FY05, final step in achieving Full Operational Capability (FOC). * Currently assigned to complete DISN circuit transitions to support network expansion.During this period I performed the following duties: * Quality Assurance Evaluator - performed QA inspection, evaluation, and acceptance of civilian contract installation of electrical power infrastructure and communication equipment associated with GIG Node build outs. * Site Installation Team member - install, configure, and test Node communication equipment in the CONUS, Pacific, and Middle East areas of operation.
