Shift leaders would change day by day.• Take part in regional and national conferences to discuss the current UK wide forecast and ensure a consistent story is maintained by all operational meteorologists. • At times conduct over 10 presentations a day, often with little time to prepare before or in between each presentation.• Detached as a senior meteorologist within one year to advise Gatwick airport, receiving highly positive feedback.• Detached for 6 months to RAF Ascension Island in the South Atlantic where I was part of a three man team for all meteorological research and information.
