Subhasis a graduate student, School Public Policy and Governance, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Hyderabad. Subhasis’s policy area concentration is Urbanisation and currently working on “Political economy around technology, governance of manual conservancy workers & waste management in India”.Prior to joining TISS, Subhasis as a civil engineer was part of a construction consultancy firm which has manoeuvred many private infrastructural projects.Subhasis was also nominated by CUTM and Bhubaneswar development Authority, Government of Odisha to lead student techies at the first ever smart city in campaign in India for Bhubaneswar chapter.Subhasis has completed many student-led research projects for School of Public Policy and Governance as a part of academic curriculum. His research interests include the interface between policy, practices and policy synergy, rental housing, low cost housing technology, social engineering, human development.In his most recent internship stint as TSU-FSSM member in GPS vertical at ‘Ernst and Young LLP’, his excellent social understanding, and willingness to serve vulnerable population and “out of box thinking” approach helped EY’s engagement with community. In a span of 45days time Shubhasis was able to provide few important lead for increasing program outreach. He tirelessly put his efforts in mobilising most vulnerable Communities by exploring effective Liaisoning and networking skills. Subhasis is a compulsive follower of national security developments and likes discussing it with people who can make sense of it. He believes that he would have been more content and happy if he had pursued a career in Indian Army.
