Using strategic and communications skills to support new charitable enterprise. Amazing Communities Together has grown out of the work of Local Trust, supporting resident led change. Long term aims include supporting communities to develop and change using resident led action, bottom up not change imposed on people and being the voice of community change. In the past the strategy and stakeholder skills were used to influencing and engaging both leaders and businesses people. Offer strong policy and communications skills, one day lobbying for small businesses and another talking on Radio Devon or BBC Spotlight. Career highlights include running the education and media teams at World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF): working to lower the nation's salt intake at Consensus Action on Salt and Health (CASH) and raising higher than expected income for a walk for the wards event at the Hospice. Key successes included hosting the FSB National Conference in Torbay; running a National Supermarket Campaign for WCRF; speaking at the WCRF Conference in Washington DC; being invited to sit at UK Government body on Nutrition (five a day); and getting DEFRA to agree a national guideline for salt intake at 6 grams a day (a huge achievement).
