My corporate expertise is both wide and deep. ACCOUNTING - FINANCE I have hands on leadership experience in the traditional finance/accounting functions such as financial reporting, budgeting, payroll, accounts payable, revenue cycle, and many functions specific to the industry that I was working in. In health care I managed the reserves and physician incentives. In manufacturing it was the economic cycles and inventory that I needed to worry about. I have led numerous projects such as due diligence assignments, integrations and conversions of systems, and upgrades of both technology and the supporting processes. I also taught MBAs at UDM for six years, using real world experience to enhance the learning process. HUMAN RESOURCESAs my one of my favorite things to do is to talk to strangers, I got on a plane as an internal auditor and came back with a job in Human Resources. Over the course of my career I have successfully managed key Human Resource functions including talent management, recruiting, compliance, salary administration and benefits. PROJECT MANAGEMENTFigure out where you are, figure out where you need to go, figure out the steps in between. That is project management which describes most of what I do in the corporate world. AT MY COREA few of my personal beliefs:1. Most people want to feel good about the work that they do so try to set people up for success.2. Saying please and thank you to people is always appropriate.3. Sometimes people need a little push to step out of their comfort zone. Look for low risk opportunities to help people do this. Help them build their confidence and skill. 4. People learn when they trust the teacher.5. Admitting you made a mistake or need help to the people that you work with empowers everyone.6. The best process improvement ideas come from the people doing the work. Give them credit.
