My name is Summer Moore, and I am graduate of Charleston Southern University. I attended CSU from 2016-2020 where I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Child Development. During this time I was a member of the women's softball team. Softball is what originally brought me 3,000 miles from my hometown of Corona, California, as I was recruited to play for Charleston Southern. As strenuous and demanding as being a student athlete was, it was an opportunity I would not trade for the world. I was able to develop innumerable intangible qualities that I may not have necessarily acquired without this experience. While attending CSU I was also able to meet countless professors, faculty, coaches, teammates and fellow students who helped me achieve my goals of becoming a successful college graduate. While working towards my degree of Child Development, I was able to receive practicum hours in numerous daycares and schools throughout multiple school districts in the Charleston area. These practicum experiences allowed me to teach lessons, observe, and work one-on-one with students. These different classroom experiences reassured me of my passion to work with children and my desire to enter the education field. Following graduation, I have worked in the food and beverage industry, first at Texas Roadhouse in Charleston as one of their lead servers and eventually their Local Store Marketer where I ran the commercial marketing and promotional department while cultivating partnerships with local businesses. I was also in charge of organizing all events and fundraisers the restaurant held. I left Texas Roadhouse in the summer of 2021 and began working at Henry's on the Market as a lead server. I will be relocating back to my hometown of Corona, CA at the end of February 2022 where I plan to pursue a career in my degree field. I look forward to the opportunities ahead of me and being able to pursue my passion of working with children.
