TransLink allowed the company to provide POS service directly to the merchants, creating a better partnership. Programmed the Hypercom point of sale terminals for customization for each merchant using the TransLink system.Worked with Transaction Network Services (TNS) communication vendor to create a fail-over system so card transactions would not be lost.Created programs to process TransLink credit card transactions: Retrieve approval from the Visa Net authorization system; Provide merchants with transaction statements; Create settlement files for transfer to the AS/400 for bank processing. Developed UNIX shell scripts to monitor system statuses and send notification of issues via text pager messages to operations personnel.Perform UNIX daily backups and system maintenance.

Implemented Electronic Data Interchange technology for the Distribution Center to better serve customers with accurate shipment tracking information and more timely delivery. Transactions included Purchase Orders, Advance Ship Notice and Invoicing. Ran EDI SOLUTIONS translator software package and maintained COBOL applications on the HP3000. Used ESPII software package for Microsoft Windows for EDI processing on a stand-alone PC.

Implemented an integrated Distribution Center system to help the warehouse team manage the flow of merchandise in an efficient manner.Developed and supported PC warehouse applications using PCBUS/DATABUS language on a NOVELL network which replaced costly manual warehouse processes. Applications included inventory control, order processing, shipping and receiving, and customized barcode carton labeling.Developed a pick-pack order processing system for point of sale order replenishment customers.Created scripts for network to AS/400 and HP3000 mainframe data integration.
