The Nexus Initiative is an independent government-owned, cross regional initiative of like-minded governments designed to support and foster the gender equality and SRHR (sexual and reproductive health and rights) agenda at the United Nations. It seeks to mobilize and increase the necessary high-level political support for gender equality and SRHR in UN intergovernmental frameworks and negotiations by mobilizing, coordinating, and supporting a group of high-level governmental champions from all regions.

Supporting the development of UNFPA's new strategy for public partnerships, resource mobilization, and financing to align with UNFPA's 2022-2025 Strategic Plan.

Served as Women Deliver's Senior Advisor on Policy and Programs leading efforts with the G7, G20, World Health Organization, UN Women, and the Generation Equality Forum.

Led Women Deliver’s policy and advocacy programs. Cultivated progressive team growth—starting from a department of one person in 2014 to a department of +20 team members in 2020. Oversaw four portfolio areas of the advocacy and policy team: 1) humanitarian advocacy; 2) the Deliver for Good Campaign; 3) research and policy analyses on cross-cutting gender equality issues; and 4) policy influencing via high-level dialogues with multilateral and government leaders. Guided the award-winning Women Deliver Young Leaders Program from 2014-2016. Supported the engagement of advocates across Africa, the Asia Pacific, Europe, and the Americas to actively advocate during policy windows to advance gender equality.Developed Women Deliver’s evidence-based policy platforms and advocacy strategies on range of issues, including: sexual and reproductive health and rights(SRHR), universal health coverage (UHC), maternal health, adolescent health, health system strengthening, health workforce, emergency response and recovery, non-communicable diseases (NCDs), COVID-19, climate action, gender equality, women’s economic justice, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Co-authored dozens of policy briefs, published reports, and peer-reviewed journal articles on international development, global health, and gender equality.Served on Women Deliver’s leadership team and played a key role in the development of the organization’s new five-year strategy. Supported the External Relations team, in securing more than $25 million USD in donor grants. Oversaw the implementation, MEL, and reporting of these grants. Engaged stakeholders from UN agencies, civil society, the private sector, academia, and government sectors. Served as Women Deliver’s policy advisor to the G7, WHO, World Bank, GAVI, Global Fund, OECD, UNAIDS, UN Women, UNFPA, UNDP, ILO, UNICEF, PMNCH, and AFDB. Acted as a Women Deliver spokesperson at summits, technical meetings, policy dialogues, and with the media.

Developed, implemented and oversaw Women Deliver's advocacy strategies and efforts. Designed and delivered advocacy campaigns globally. Built and expanded relationships with stakeholders from civil society, private and public organizations, and national/international government sectors.

Rabin Martin is a global health strategy firm with a growing portfolio of projects in the US and around the world. Our mission is to improve the health and lives of underserved communities. Led the advocacy and communications efforts for Merck for Mothers—Merck’s 10-year, $500 million initiative to reduce maternal mortality. Cultivated and implemented thought leadership opportunities for the leaders of the initiative; managed the development of advocacy materials across print and digital platforms; liaised with NGO, multilateral, and bilateral partners on public-private partnership efforts; work USAID to develop and manage communications and advocacy outreach. Worked on advocacy and policy efforts to improve the maternal health services in the US, India, Senegal, Uganda, and Zambia.

Offered communications and marketing support to multinational corporations, foundations, and advertising agencies. Aided in the development of branding and marketing plans. Directed and facilitated branding strategy sessions. Provided counsel on digital execution. Offered writing and copy-editing support in many forms—new business proposals, case studies, press materials, advertising print copy, and web copy.

Designed and executed an original field research in India examining civil society's efforts to improve maternal health systems and quality of care through community-based social accountability models. Conducted focus group discussions and interviews with more than 70 women, health workers, policy makers, journalists, and representatives from non-governmental organizations. Developed advocacy reports and policy briefings to highlight the study’s findings. Served as the lead author of a published article in the peer-reviewed journal.

Served on a variety of international development and global health projects that set out to advance greater political will, policies, programming and funding around maternal and child health issues, HIV/AIDS, tobacco prevention/cessation, child safety, nutrition, and greater financial inclusion for the poor. In addition to high-level advocacy, the work also involved developing and launching multimedia health education campaigns directed toward the general public. Worked on projects across five continents.Responsible for setting the long-term campaign strategy, budgeting, interfacing with clients and coordinating various in-house departments to ensure the project deliverables aligned with the overall strategy and client objectives. Helped conduct and oversee the advertising, advocacy outreach, branding, coalition building/partnership development, design development, digital engagement, event management, media outreach, media planning/buying, and video/broadcast production. Researched trends in sustainable enterprise, assisted the Climate Change team in earned media outreach, edited case studies on major corporate sustainability initiatives, assisted in outreach to key partners, aided in the organization of conferences and trade shows and maintained a database of foundation sponsors.

Researched story ideas and pitched long-format television news segments to senior producers, participated in film shoots, conducted pre-production interviews, and supported post-production activities.

Aided in the development of press releases and formal statements, conducted media outreach, assisted in the orchestration of press conferences and satellite feeds, researched and compiled daily news clips.

Helped organize fundraising events for the 1996 re-election campaign for President Clinton and supported the coordination of fundraisers for other democratic candidates running for the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate.
