Suzanne has acquired valuable experience in all aspects of textile conservation and exhibition installations with over 25 years experience at the Powerhouse Museum Sydney, the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NY and the galleries at F.I.T. NY. She plays an important team member role on many successful Powerhouse exhibitions as well as numerous international shows. Some of the past international exhibitions displayed at the Powerhouse Museum were, Dior- The Magic of Fashion, House of Dior and UFAC, Diana – A Celebration, Althorp Estate, The Cutting Edge Fashion From Japan KCI, Korean textiles and costumes of the Chosun Dynasty, The Museum of Korean Embroidery, Audrey Hepburn, Ferragamo Collection. She has presented many lectures and workshops on the importance of preservation of cultural materials to regional towns in NSW, Powerhouse audiences, high school students, tertiary students, textile and dress specialty groups. In addition to presentations on the field of conservation, she has given talks on dress history with emphasis on Japanese fashion. She has conducted numerous tours of the collection stores of the Powerhouse Museum. Suzanne has designed and fabricated many object supports for the display and storage of textiles and historical dress from the Eighteenth Century to the present. Her research on degrading polyurethane (ES) fibre led to successful results and significant changes to long term storage of certain collections. Suzanne presented her results to an international symposium Costume Colloquium, Past Dress Future Fashion in November 2012 Florence Italy. Since then many networks have developed and continue to strengthen. She has travelled extensively with many Powerhouse exhibitions across Australia and international locations.
