Led proposals for cost extensions on two awards resulting in ceiling increases of $5.34M.

Developed a quantitative study of the effects of food aid elimination on over 200 HIV-positive TASO clients, including study design, data collection and analysis. Trained and supervised a research team of fifteen in data collection and research practices as part of institutional capacity building in TASOs research center.

Worked with local and regional health officials in rural Kenya and with Population Services International to develop and implement school and community HIV prevention education programs in rural and peri-urban areas of central Kenya. -Worked with PSI/Kenya staff to launch a pilot HIV prevention education program in 30 schools and 3 large production companies in Thika district central Kenya. Partnered with HIV-positive advocates and local community theater groups. -Collaborated with the Nyandarua district office of the Ministry of Health to develop district-wide HIV/AIDS education programs including a resource and training manual on HIV/AIDS and behavior change used by Ministry of Health counterparts, community leaders, teachers and other Peace Corps Volunteers. Ran health issues training workshops for teachers and community groups focused on nutrition, WASH, and numerous family planning/reproductive health and maternal and child health issues. -Advised women’s groups on diarrhea and malnutrition treatment for children, and advocated for behavior change around child immunizations and family planning and birth spacing. -Engaged nurse practitioners to provide clinical advice.
