I worked with Dr. Tiffani L. Williams to create techniques that help scientists manage and analyze large collections of phylogenetic trees. Among the approaches created were MrsRF, the fastest parallel algorithm for generating all-to-all RF matrices and TreeZip, the most efficient method for compressing large collections of phylogenetic trees. My dissertation work involved the creation of a version control system that allows scientists to seamlessly manage their large tree collections. When my research assistantship ended, I continued my dissertation work in the lab as a Texas A&M Dissertation Fellow.

Recognized by Office of Graduate Education at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute for excellence as a Teaching Assistant (1 of 6 recipients). Trained new Rensselaer Teaching Assistants in a series of workshops, and held micro-teaching sessions.

Worked as Research Assistant in the Bystroff Research Lab on protein unfolding research

Worked with Dr. Tiffani L. Williams (DMP Summer Advisor) on creating a new method of phylogenetic search called the RAq Approach, and algorithm based on previously established Disk Covering Methods (DCMs).

Worked as technical backend for AP Exam site in Lincoln NE. Helped trained junior interns at Lincoln site. Also did support for COLA and NBTPS during latter part of summer.

Worked as technical backend for AP Exam grading on-site at Lincoln, NE. Also did support for NBTPS and COLA applications during latter part of summer.

Hosted activities for Senior citizens to enjoy, including word searches, crossword puzzles, and arts & crafts. Also manned the store, and taught interested seniors basic computer skills.
